about

This song was born during a children's academy session at Bosch Baha'i School, tucked away in the redwood forests of Santa Cruz, CA. 60 children were preparing for Arts Night, the moment to share either a song, a dance, or a comedy skit. I found myself in the music group.

The children had recently memorized this quote about Unity the night before and I always found music to be the great unifier. I love taking my ukulele with me on trips because people are more eager to talk to you after some calm melodies. But anyways..

With a guitar in my hands and the eager faces of the children, I knew it had to be a happy and upbeat song. I was playing around with the chords of "We are drops..." (a classic unity/Baha'i anthem) and then this unique melody hit me hard and I was so eager and excited to figure it out and share with the children.

Somehow, the children also all agreed to do my suggested choreographed dance moves as well, which had them swaying their hands side to side, and had them holding hands while singing "Uuuu...niii..tyyyyy..."

A beautiful image of the oneness of this planet.
